Moving Forward… Beyond 33 Years!
Congratulations!!!
Today we celebrate our Church’s 33rd Anniversary!
Four people gathered for the very first Sunday to worship the Lord on the 10th of July 1983. And from then on, we have been marching forward. The Lord has brought in an increase. Our Church began to grow. Today we gather as a testimony of what the Lord has done at New Life Assembly and to thank Him for faithfully leading us.
“The Lord has done this and it is marvelous in our eyes” (Psalm 118:23)
We have finally purchased the 12-acre property for our Church. Now, we need to march forward to build a sanctuary and all other facilities to fulfill the Vision. God wants to use each one of us to impact this city and this nation.
God is always on the move. He moved in Genesis 1 when the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. He moved in Matthew 1 when He left heaven and came into our world. He moved in Acts 2 when the Holy Spirit came to rest on all the 120 people on the Day of Pentecost. And He is still moving in our hearts, our Churches and in our world today.
Exodus 14:15 (ESV) The Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward.
Parents expect their kids to move forward… they expect them to go to school, to study and to progress in life. Then they expect them to go to college, find a job and keep progressing in life. In our natural world, there are expectations and we keep moving forward.
God too is desiring for His people to move forward with Him. God is desiring for everyone to come to the knowledge of the truth. He is wanting every believer to grow to become a disciple of Jesus Christ and to reflect His image in this world. He is wanting every Christ follower to let someone know about this great salvation through Jesus Christ.
Philippians 3:13,14 (ESV) …But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Genesis 26:12,13 (KJV) “Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the Lord blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great.”
