KALAM, A BELOVED FRIEND OF EVERY INDIAN!

Posted by:admin

Today is friendship day! I am sure there are some friends of yours, you are so proud of. There is one person I think every Indian would like to call as friend.
That is none other than our beloved former President, Dr. Kalam.

The outpouring of tributes to this person speaks volumes of this great man. Every person and institution he visited cherishes the memory of meeting him. I remember reading the report of his visit to an institution. “As he walked into the auditorium to deliver his lecture there was an electrifying, uncontrollable excitement among the audience, mostly the young students. It was followed by pin drop silence as he rose to speak. Every word was eagerly lapped up... Once he said, "Dream is not what you see in sleep but dream is the thing which doesn't allow you to sleep"... His speech was straight from the heart as he spoke about the three components that filled the coffers of knowledge - creativity, righteousness and courage. These were the values which he firmly stood for. His positive spirit, humility, love and regard for the country are what     all of us should emulate.”

Dr. APJ Abdul KALAM wrote a letter to John Jeyakumar on 24.03.2010

Dear God’s Youth Ministries Leaders, Thank you for your letter.

Today youth are not the Church of tomorrow; they are the Church of today. God has given us young people young people to care for: and to whom much is given, much will be required. The challenge facing youth leaders is to build into student’s hearts the sense that God has a specific call and destiny for their lives when they are complete surrendered to his will. Youth ministry also has a focus on the future. The only way to ensure lasting discipleship is to teach preach and model a life surrendered to God. However, this cannot be accomplished alone. You need staff who replicate your vision, duplicate your leadership, and demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ to this generation.

May we have the courage and passion to see, with eyes of faith, Gods provision inside and outside our youth rooms.

May God bless you all. You’re sincerely, Dr. APJ Abdul KALAM

Did you know that in the background of this great scientist and leader is a small school where Dr. Kalam did not just get education but self confidence. The Schwartz High School, Ramanathapuram where Dr. Kalam studied is one of the oldest schools founded by Rev. Schwartz, a missionary to South India often called the Apostle to South India. In Dr. Kalam's words, 'By the time I completed my education at Schwartz, I was a self confident boy, determined to succeed.' (taken from wings of fire). The toils of missionaries like Rev. Schwartz and Rev. Billing sparked off Dr. Kalam's dreams!! Rev. Schwartz & Rev. Billing are the unknown Hero’s of Faith. Praise God for their dedication & mission.

Let us make a commitment to be an influence in the areas God has placed us in. Who know one day we may produce another Dr. Kalam!
