Bring the Children to Jesus
Bring the Children to Jesus
The children of our world are in terrible danger. Look at the facts -- The most dangerous place for a child today is in its mother’s womb. The child’s chance of being aborted grows with every passing year. Many children today will never live with a normal mother-father relationship but will spend some part of their childhood in a single-parent household. Many children become street children. Some estimate that 100 million children in this world live on the streets. More than 10 million children are caught up in child prostitution, sex rings and pornography worldwide. There is a satanic assault on children. Behind drug abuse, child abuse, child pornography, teen suicide and music glorifying sin and death moves the devil’s hand intent on destroying this generation of youth. One-third of the world’s population is under the age of 15. In India that statistic is almost one-half. Though these are startling facts, there is a wonderful truth to know: children are the most “reachable” group for the Gospel. The majority of people accept Jesus as their Saviour between the ages of 4 and 14. Though ministries to the abused and fallen are important, but how much better to reach children before they become catastrophes! We are fast approaching that wonderful time of year that affords us great opportunities to minister to children--summer vacation! In a few weeks most of our children will have finished exams and happily launch into their holidays. However, they soon become bored with inactivity. What a great time for us to plan some meaningful programs for children in our neighborhoods. As you plan your family vacations, please keep in mind the special Church programs scheduled for our kids. Our Youth Department is running Summer for Jesus from June 5th to 8th. They also are planning a number of interesting outreach programs in the months of April and May. Our Kids Konvention, targeting children ages 4 through 14, is scheduled for June 1st to 5th. Please arrange to have your children and youth available for these special programs. We would like to see, however, many more activities planned for children across our city. What a wonderful opportunity for Carecells to plan an event to reach the children in your flat or your neighborhood. The excuses believers give to not work with children are amazing. Here are a few: “I don’t have time.” Then check your priorities. Our Lord’s command is world evangelism, and children make up half of our population. We cannot neglect them; we are under orders from the King of kings. “I don’t know how.” It is the work of the ministry, according to Ephesians 4:12, to equip the saints for the work of ministry. We stand ready to assist you with material and resources you will need. Please contact our church office @ 66385450 for help. “You can get someone else.” Perhaps. But one thing is sure. God may also get someone else at the judgment seat of Christ when the rewards are handed out. “I have no ability.” Good news! Jesus has sent the Holy Spirit to give us the power to become witnesses (Acts 1:8). The Holy Spirit imparts supernatural creativity to those He fills. Paul testified, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13). Our church needs volunteers to reach children and youth. This is your opportunity to touch the children of your community. You have the privilege of declaring the Gospel somehow, someway, to the kids around you. You can be the one to build a bridge…and bring the children to Jesus. Jesus said: “let the little children come to me and forbid them not” Mark 10:14
