What happens in a Carecell?
Last week I shared with you in this space on the importance of Fellowship in a Christian's life.
Even as we continue to focus this month on the purpose of carecells, I would like to emphasis further on the role a carecell plays in the life of a Christian. I have a question for those who are not part of a carecell. Did you ever wonder, what really happens in a carecell? Why is my church urging me constantly to be part of a carecell? Why are those who are attending so excited about being part of a cell group?
Well let me give you a glimpse of what really happens in the 90 minutes of time spent in the carecell. The carecells are very structured and organized in order to fulfill the purpose for which it was designed.
There are five things that happen in a carecell. There is a time of (a) Worship (b) Body Life Ministry (c) Bible Discussion (d) Conversational Prayer and (e) Fellowship.
Let me explain to you what each of them is all about briefly. The detailed explanation of every part will follow in the coming weeks.
(a) Worship: During the worship time, Faith is built, burdens are lifted, God is glorified, and members are encouraged as the group obeys the directions of Ephesians 5 19-20 which say, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(b) Body Life Ministry: It involves deep personal sharing of needs and problems as well as victories. It is a time of ministering to each other when the members open up their needs.
(c) Bible Discussion: Did you ever encounter a verse in the Bible during your meditation and wondered what it really means? Were you so excited when God spoke to you through a word and you didn’t know with whom to share it?? Well you need to be carecelled!!
During the Bible discussion the Leader guides the discussion on a passage or theme that is decided for that day. The discussions are all centered on the word of God.. It strengthens faith and clarifies doubts
(d) Conversational prayer - Did you ever wonder who would carry your burden in prayer? That is exactly what is done during Conversational prayer. Cell members keep a prayer list with one request for each group member on it. They pray for these needs each day until they are answered.
(e) Fellowship - This is usually at the end of the meeting. This is the time when members talk together informally and share their lives with each other over a cup of tea or coffee It is here that friendships are made for lifetime and they are you can be sure going to be a part of your joys and sorrows. The bond gets deeper and they take pride in calling themselves a Carecell family!
