Eagle Christians Soar High

Congratulations!

Today we celebrate our Church’s 32nd Anniversary!

32 years of our Lord’s faithfulness and leading.

Isaiah 40:31 declares “But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”

A man was walking through a village when he discovered an eagle’s egg that had fallen out of its nest. He looked up and saw that the nest was too high for him to return the egg. So he placed the egg in a nearby chicken nest.

When the egg hatched, the little eagle thought he was a chicken. Chickens stay on the ground and eat only worms, insects and grains. So, as the eagle grew, he ate nothing but worms, insects and grains and walked around with the other chickens.

One day, he looked up to the sky and saw some eagles soaring high above. He asked one of the chickens, "How can they fly up there while we are down here eating worms, insects and grains?"

The chicken answered, "They are eagles; they can do that. We are chickens and this is what we do. We stay down here." So, the eagle spent the rest of his life barely flying and eating worms, insects and grains, believing that he was a chicken.

God has called us to be an Eagle and not a chicken. Isaiah speaks of those who trust in the Lord will find strength to soar high like an eagle.

Eagles are bold and devoted to God. They understand that if they are going to be  able to fly in the storm it will be in the strength of the LORD, and if they get tired, they know they have to go back to the source of their strength to be renewed.

The eagle is not afraid of adversity. They are never afraid of the storm. The forceful winds that frighten other birds only empowers the eagle to soar higher. Thus, while the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring high. The eagle that soars up in the air does not worry about crossing the river below.

The eagle flies with purpose. He knows he was designed by God to fly. He is not a ground bird, gathering food from the ground, the leftovers from other birds. He goes where no other birds fly. In the storm of life, Christians will be seen above the circumstances, taking their positions as a child of God.

Eagles in the sky have a bigger and better view. The Vision is better when the eagle is soaring – near the sun. When we are near the Son (Jesus Christ), we get a better Vision of the purpose of God.

On our Anniversary today, God is reminding us to be Eagle Christians.

He is telling us how to renew our strength.

He is telling us how to run and not grow weary.

How to walk with God and not faint.

We have finally purchased this 12-acre property for our Church. Now, we need to march forward to see His Purposes fulfilled through this place and through our lives.

Like the eagle, we are called to soar high in the sky. We are called to conquer heights. We are called to rise above our circumstances.  When the rubber meets the road - eagle Christians will emerge strong and victorious.
